Home and it feels so good. :)
Haha! There’s even Mexican karaoke happening down the street.

I guess light leaks can be a good thing. I gotta work on respooling my 120 film to 620 spools.

A big thanks to Arthur Bueno for helping me scan these today.

I can’t wait to head back to Palm Springs for the summer. <3

“I’m a little drunk on you and high on summer time.”

On the ride home tonight while wearing a tiny ass sweater, I said, “It’s not cold.” (Repeated 50 times). “Craaaaap, yeeees it isssss!” Summer’s here!

There are 12 rounds of redwood in my small San Francisco living space that I share with another girl. At times like these, I wish I had my own studio space to make a mess. Here we go finals!

Shorts weather in SF! Heck yes!

After yesterdays walk to the Harvey Milk Center with Chris Taylor, I started thinking about murals and wall art from all the interesting facts and individuals he knew who are local mural artists. So I got on my bike and practically had another life or death experience because of a double parked van. Luckily the space between the double parked van and the parked car to the right of me had enough space between for me to skim through and come out the other end…

Onwards to the Mission… After meeting with 826 Valencia’s art director Maria and a design intern, I was able to do some photography work for them for their annual Young Writers Wall. Every year, a handful of students ranging from elementary school to high school students, are chosen to be represented as outstanding writers at 826 Valencia. They needed images to place up on their writers wall, so after arriving we headed out to the new play ground at Dolores Park where I shot images of the awesome kids being candid, young, and wild. It was a great day to a new start of finally working for a client.

After running into a ranchero market to grab some beans and to a thrift store to play around in, I headed up Valencia to go home, but instead, I found Clarion Alley. I always seem to stumble upon historical places that I don’t know are historical at the time, until I head home and start doing some research.

Apparently Clarion Alley has been a thriving mural art community since late 1992 and has since then featured artists such as Emory Douglas, Jet Martinez, as well as the current co-organizer Megan Wilson, and many other practicing and emerging artists. Shooting these murals reminded me of when I’d go wandering around East LA, photographing all the mural art, while eating pan dulce. All in all it was a great ending to a day working with 826 Valencia, buying $13 worth of random thrift accessories, buying pinto beans, and riding back home with rain stained glasses.
